This Privacy Policy explains what information the Catch 'Em Cord Discord bot and website (the "Bot", "Service", "we", "us") collect, how we use it, and your choices. In this policy, "we", "us", and "our" mean Catch 'Em Cord and its operators. By adding or using the Service, you agree to this policy. Catch 'Em Cord is an unofficial fan project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Nintendo, Game Freak, or The Pokémon Company (see our Terms of Service).
We only collect what we need to run the game:
We do not collect your email, password, payment card details, IP address, or real-world identity through the Bot.
To provide and operate the game, grant rewards, run anti-cheat/anti-abuse, moderation, and security, debug and improve the Bot, and respond to support requests.
We do not sell your data and don't share it for advertising. Limited sharing happens only to run the service: Discord (the platform; see Discord's Privacy Policy); bot listing sites like top.gg (vote notifications only); the hosting/infrastructure we use to run the Bot; and Patreon, only if you choose to support the Bot: it processes your payment under its own policies and grants you a Discord role, and we send it nothing about you (see Section 5). We may disclose information if required by law.
Our website (catchemcord.com) is an informational page. It does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies and does not build a profile of you. We may use privacy-friendly, aggregate, cookieless analytics (for example, to count page visits and referrers) that do not identify individual visitors. The site links to third-party services (Discord, top.gg, the support server); those are governed by their own policies.
Payments for optional support tiers are handled by Patreon, and we never see your payment details. We do not receive your card, your billing address, or your Patreon email.
What actually reaches us is a Discord role. When you pledge and link your Discord account, Patreon grants you a role in our official server; the Bot reads that role and stores, against your Discord user ID, which tier you hold, when it started, when it was last confirmed, and that it came from Patreon. That is the whole record. If you cancel, the role goes away and we mark the tier ended.
Your pledge itself is governed by Patreon's privacy policy.
We keep your gameplay data while your account is active. You can request deletion at any time (Section 7). Operational logs are kept for a limited period, then purged or anonymized.
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of the data tied to your Discord user ID. Deleted progress cannot be recovered. To make a request, contact [email protected] or our support server: https://discord.gg/T3Gj9p4sbm. We may verify the request comes from the relevant Discord account. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA; we honor those rights where they apply.
The Bot is intended for users who meet Discord's minimum age requirement (13+, or older where required by local law). It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child under 13 has used the Bot, contact us and we will remove the data.
We take reasonable measures to protect your data, but no method is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The Bot may be operated from, and your data processed in, a country other than your own. By using the Bot you consent to that processing.
We may update this policy. Material changes are reflected by the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, announced in our support server. Continued use means you accept them.
