You can support the Bot now! Plus some new changes and fixes!
Catch 'Em Cord stays free to play. If you want to help support the development, you can now support it for $5 a month, and everything you get is cosmetic. This includes animated battles and catches, your Pokémon shown where you caught it with a special background, your own card color and a gold badge.
For supporters
Supporting the bot#
You can now support the bot for $5 a month on Patreon. It is a donation, not a purchase. It keeps the bot running and it goes back into the game. Supporters get some nice visual bonuses on their side of the game, and none of them give them a benefit in real gameplay.
To get your perks, link your Discord account on Patreon and be in the official server. Without both, the bot has no way to give you your perks. You can also run /supporter in Discord.
Animated battles#
Every turn for a Supporter now plays as an animation. The text scrolls across the screen, your Pokémon lunges, the HP bar drains on the hit, and a knocked out Pokémon drops off its platform before the game says it fainted. Then the EXP bar fills, and a level up shows which stats went up.
It works in wild battles, fishing, the Trainer Circuit, research bosses and singles PvP. The fainting, EXP and level up parts are in wild battles and fishing. In PvP, if either player is a supporter, both players see it! You can turn it off any time in /supporter.
The catch, animated#
The ball flies in, the Pokémon is pulled inside, and the ball rocks once for every shake before it clicks shut with stars.
Caught in place#
Your catch card shows your Pokémon standing in the place you caught it, with Caught by and your name under it. The Pokémon moves on the card, on your catch cards and when you open /pokemon.
Your own card color#
Pick from 10 colors with the 🎨 Card color button on your /stats card. It shows on your Trainer Card, your catch cards, /pokemon, the EV spread, and the card when a Pokémon you are battling runs away.
A gold badge#
A gold Supporter badge on your Trainer Card, and next to your name on the leaderboard.
You also get a Supporter role and a supporters channel in the official server, and early looks into what is being developed!
What it does not do#
Nothing here helps you catch, win, earn, or climb. No better odds, no extra spawns, no coins, no Pokémon, nothing faster.
Become a SupporterLink your Discord on Patreon and join the official server to get your perks.
For everyone
Free badges too#
If you were one of the first 100 trainers to run /start, your role used to be called Early Supporter. It is now called Founding Trainer, and it now shows a badge on your Trainer Card. If you boost the official server, you get a Booster badge.
Neither one costs anything, and neither is a paid role.
A new catch screen#
When you caught a Pokémon, the screen used to show an empty platform. Now the ball rests right where the Pokémon stood, with a special catch screen instead!
Status shows on the battle screen#
When a Pokémon is poisoned, burned, frozen, paralyzed or falls asleep, it is now tinted that status's color. This works in every kind of battle.
Who's That Pokémon?#
Every spawn card now has a Who's That Pokémon? button. Press it, type the name, and if you are right the battle starts. There is a Hint button next to it too.
Typing /encounter with the name still works the same.
The little things#
- When your vote is ready,
/dailyshows a link to vote. - Battle text stays on screen a little longer, and the first screen after you pick a move shows up sooner.
- Every item has its icon in the bag's Use menu.
- Messages saying you are already in a battle now link to that battle.
- The market's sell picker has a search.
- A Metal Coat can be held to power up Steel-type moves, and still evolves Onix and Scyther from the bag.
- Evolution stones in the shop now list every Pokémon they evolve, Gen 5 included.
- Deoxys's boss battle follows the same reading pace as every other battle.
- Circuit rematches are now in the Ultra Ball and Master divisions.
Fixes#
- Frisk uses the games' line. It now says "Gothita frisked Porygon-Z and found its Life Orb!" instead of saying the Pokémon obtained an item it was already holding. Air Balloon is fixed too.
- Abilities that announce themselves use the games' lines. Pressure, Mold Breaker and the rest now say things like "Gothita is exerting its pressure!"
- Beating Deoxys shows the celebration card. The card now posts when you win.
- The release card shows the right form. Spinda keeps its spots, and Unown letters and other forms show as they should.
- Fishing can no longer lock you out. If a fishing battle's card disappears, running
/fishagain clears it, and the same fish is still waiting. - The Day Care box shows the right form. A Winter Sawsbuck now shows its Winter coat when you pick a Pokémon to leave.
- Keldeo and Darmanitan show their real names. Their form is no longer stuck to their name, like "Keldeo-Ordinary".
- Air Lock and Cloud Nine clear the weather. The battle now says "The effects of the weather disappeared."
- Dig, Fly and Shadow Force hide the Pokémon. In the Circuit and PvP, a Pokémon using a move like these now disappears from the field.
- The Circuit entry screen shows your party in order. It now matches your
/party. - Server Challenges count evolutions and hatches. Both now add to your server's challenge.
- Phione hatches count once. Hatch research tasks no longer count a Phione hatch twice.
- PvP type labels follow the Pokémon on the field. They now update after a switch.
- PvP messages point you to
/party. They used to mention a/teamcommand that does not exist. - You can't cast
/fishin the middle of another battle. Finish or run from that battle first. - Long partner names fit on the Trainer Card. The Circuit emblems no longer overlap either.
