How to play Catch 'Em Cord
Catch 'Em Cord turns your Discord server into a Pokémon region. Wild Pokémon spawn while your server chats, and everything from the battle screens to the catch rates works like the real games. Here's everything you need to get started!
Getting started
- Add the bot to your server.
- Run
/startand pick your first partner! Any starter from Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, or Unova. - A server admin runs
/configto choose spawn channels, or leaves spawns on everywhere. - Chat! Wild Pokémon spawn in as people talk. The busier the server, the more spawn.
- New trainers get First Steps, a short checklist that pays out as you learn the ropes.
/helpexplains every command.
Catching Pokémon
When a wild Pokémon appears, guess the species and run /encounter [name] to face it. You'll get a real encounter screen: Fight to weaken it with your lead Pokémon, Bag to choose a ball and throw, Switch to send out a different partner, or Run. Weakening a wild Pokémon and giving it a status like sleep or paralysis raises your catch odds, using the games' real capture formula. Ball choice matters too. Great and Ultra Balls catch better, and special balls like the Quick Ball follow their real rules.
Wild Pokémon also follow the games' modern flee rules. An ordinary wild Pokémon will never run just because you threw a ball at it. One can still leave, but only by actually using a move that ends the encounter, so a wild Abra escapes by using Teleport. The roaming legendaries are the exception: they take a hit and run.
Battles that work like the games
Every battle runs on the Pokémon Showdown engine, the same simulator competitive players use. Weaken wild Pokémon for better catch odds, or challenge a trainer to a PvP duel with /battle. Accurate IVs, EVs, natures, abilities, weather, and held items, all built directly into the bot. Catching pays EXP like a win, and the EXP splits between the Pokémon that actually fought.
The Trainer Circuit
Ready to prove your team? The Trainer Circuit is a difficult battle campaign for a full team of six strong Pokémon. Every division puts five trainers and one Ace in your way, and every battle is a full 6v6, so make sure your Pokémon are ready and trained! Clear a division to earn its Emblem and open the next one, all the way up to the Champion. Want a partner in the chaos? /battle has doubles too: you each get 2 Pokémon out at a time. And once a week the whole server works on a Server Challenge together in /research.
Field Research
Run /research to see your slate: three tasks in Poké Ball, Great Ball, and Ultra Ball tiers. Each one rewards you with ₽, and there's a bonus for clearing all three. Catch, battle, evolve and more. Think one is difficult? You can reroll it once a day. Three new tasks arrive 12 hours after you finish the previous set.
Earning and spending Poké Dollars
/dailypays every day, with a Rare Candy every 7th day of your streak./voteon top.gg every 12 hours for coins and Great Balls. Weekends pay double coins!- Earn coins just by chatting, plus new species, battle wins, and research tasks all pay out.
- Spend at the
/shop: balls, evolution stones, vitamins, berries, held items. You can also sell items back to the Mart from your/bag.
Breeding, shinies, and the long game
Leave two compatible Pokémon at the /daycare to hatch Eggs that inherit IVs, natures, and Egg Moves. Every spawn has a shiny chance! Can you be lucky and find one? Some Pokémon only appear at day or at night on your server's clock, and friendship evolutions work like the games. The roaming legendaries take a hit and bolt, carrying their damage until you finally corner them. List your spares or hunt for that perfect competitive mon on the /market, or trade with other trainers in your server for Pokémon and ₽.
