The Legendary Rework
Running into a legendary is supposed to be an insane moment. It had started to feel too frequent and not rewarding enough, so we rebuilt how they show up, how they leave, and what happens when you lose one.
Some of this changed on Aug 13, 2026. See Losing a legendary isn't the end anymore! for how it works now. We keep old notes exactly as they were written.
Legendary encounters, reworked#
- A server will not run into two different legendaries on the same day. They should feel like a big moment!
- If you lose one like Mewtwo or Lugia, it is gone. HOWEVER, it comes back only once your server has earned enough spawns for another shot at it, and it returns at full strength. This will take a long time.
- No more coin flip deciding whether it vanishes. If you lose it, you lost it. Get those teams and Pokeballs ready!
The roaming legendaries keep their chase#
All roaming legendaries still bolt the moment a single ball fails, and all the damage you land on them sticks between each encounter. Wear one down across a hunt and it will be weaker every time you find it again.
Legendaries wait while you are playing#
A legendary used to disappear on a strict timer, regardless of whether the server was active or not. That timer is now removed. Now it sticks around while your server is active and only moves on once enough other Pokemon have come and gone. Nobody loses a legendary just because they took a minute to get their team ready.
Spinda finally shows its spots#
Every Spinda has its own spot pattern, and its catch card was showing a broken image instead of the Spinda you actually caught. Fixed.
Shop and battle fixes#
- The Battle Items tab in the shop would not open at all. Fixed.
- Battles move quicker now (still being adjusted).
- Multi hit moves no longer shout "It's super effective!" once per hit.
- Moves that change your type no longer leak internal text into the battle log.
Still tuning#
None of these changes are final. We are going to keep watching how legendaries actually feel in real encounters and will continue to adjust, so expect more changes and fine tuning from here.
